An impressive bhilding next to the river & a short walk from the town centre. Owners were very friendly & helpful

  • Older travelers

Theodore and Monika, along with Karolina, were incredible hosts. Very personable, attentive and genuine! The historical home, a major undertaking in renovation and attention to detail, is the loving project of the owners - and their pride in ownership really shines. Our room was more than expected, super comfortable, well-decorated - and with views of both the river and castle. Breakfast was outstanding and gave us all the energy we needed to spend the whole afternoon romping up to the castle and shopping around the pretty village of Cochem. I am already planning another trip to Cochem and hope to stay at Villa Vinum time and again. Thank you for the memorable stay! Barbara and Joel Landstuhl, Germany

  • Family with children

Big rooms, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, nice breakfast spread and welcoming and friendly hosts.

  • Older travelers

The hotel was close to city center and transportation and was very comfortable. Parking was onsite and no cost. The included breakfast was good and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is truly special in every way and we are already planning our next trip! I travelled there with my mother after visiting Cochem once nearly 30 years ago. The hotel is excellently situated between the station and town (less than 5 mins walk each way) and is in a wonderfully restored old building which has maintained many of its original design features. Done up in a an eco-friendly way, the hotel has been luxuriously decorated with so much care paid to every unique detail. Our room was on the first floor and had a balcony. It overlooked the vineyards at the back and was lovely and very quiet, even though we stayed in the middle of the wine festival! The bed was comfortable and the decor / level of comfort in the room had been well thought out, with attention paid to every need a guest may have. The breakfast is fresh, plentiful and with many choices, most of which are homemade. It is laid out beautifully as well. But the best thing about the hotel are its wonderful staff, especially the owners Monika and Theodore. My mother was taken ill on the trip and needed to go to the hospital and dentist (out of town) on the Saturday night. Not only did Theo take us to the hospital and dentist that night as we did not have our own car, but he then drove out of his way on the Sunday to pick up her medication at a pharmacy in a different town. They took care of us wonderfully, even down to providing dinner for me late at night when they realised I had not had time to eat due to being with my mother. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for its location, design and comfort, but most of all its service, which is probably the best we have ever experienced!

Very nice hotel in an old villa, modern style inside rooms. Very serviceminded staff. We had a wonderful stay, and will sertainly come back. Town a short walk away, close to gas-station and railwaystation. Free private parking and internet

  • Older travelers

Had the most wonderful stay at the hotel. The host is super friendly and most helpful In everyday . He not only singlehandedly brought our 3 huge. luggages to our room , he gave us a choice of 2 very spacious and equally nice rooms to choose from The rooms are equipped with the most modern facilities and squeaky clean. The breakfast is a substantial spread of gourmet food and a feast for the eyes as well . We appreciate that Theo the host arranged for us a great dinner at a beautify restaurant nearby We simply love the place and the hosts Theo and his partner I think the extreme value for money and definitely would recommend it to anyone looking to stay at Cochem

Believe it or not , can't think of anything we dislike about Hotel Villa Vinum

  • Older travelers

Great location, beautiful, clean, relaxing hotel. Easy walk to centre of town and all the action. Right on the river. Breakfast was fabulous - lots of the freshest choices. Friendly staff. Easy, free parking on-site and very close to the train station.

Road in front of hotel was very noisy with traffic. Our room was at the back and no problem, very quiet and relaxing. Bathroom light goes on with motion sensor - lit up room during the night.

  • Older travelers

Beautiful place, close to everything, excellent breakfast, wonderful hosts!

  • Family with children

Our stay (a family with two young children) at Villa Vinum was simply outstanding. The entire hotel has been carefully redone and the rooms were wonderful. The owners, Theo and Monika, are gracious hosts that took the time to provide excellent suggestions for local restaurants and things to do. I would highly recommend a stay at their lovely hotel.

  • Older travelers

They have their own, free, parking and they are located close to the city center. Staff is very friendly.

The WIFI did only work in the reception area.

  • Couple

Nice building quite close to town. Theo the owner is a very nice chap and is clearly working round the clock to make his business work as so many b&b owners are at this time of year. Bless the Innkeeper! What else... Yes ok free parking on site, breakfast good and a very nice complementary glass of wine on the terrace (to ease our problems...see below)!

I must check whether I'm booking an Hotel or a b&B. If the latter you are truly entering someone's home.....hard to complain or even to be honest about problems....and there were some. The room was up in the attic, new and slightly unfinished (apology offered and accepted) almost no headroom and incredibly hot on a very hot day. No fan and no aircon....really quite claustrophobic. Do check that if your room is in the loft that you get a discount! If you are a light sleeper this place isn't for you...the main railway runs just behind the house and the main road, sadly beloved by (so many) bikers is just below on the other side. The other side of the river has none of these problems. Having said that, Theo is a good guy and you may have a different experience....I Hope so.

  • Group of friends

Staff and service were very accomondating and helpful for us foreign travelers

Since on main street, somewhat noisy.

  • Couple

We had an amazing stay at Villa Vinum, we went to celebrate our 14th Anniversary and really look forward to visiting again very soon. Monika was very lovely and friendly, and was able to advise us on where to visit and gave us a map too. The hotel was fresh and clean, and beautiful. Our room was fantastic and had beautiful views. The breakfast was lovely with a great selection.

  • Couple

The hotel was stylish, clean, comfortable and in a superb location. Both Theo and Monika were perefct hosts, and provided wonderful breakfasts. Their advice on where to eat showed us two wonderful resturants in Cochem which we might have missed. Also their amazing wine selection meant we sampled some delicious Riesling. Monika also pointed us in the right direction to purchase the best value Riesling! All these points made our stay in Cochem perfect. We would have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Villa Vinum and we would certainly stay there again.
